Your listing
Who can be listed?
Lawyers, paralegals, notaries, patent and trademark agents, mediators, court reporters, process servers, interpreters, tutors and the other legal professions we cover, along with associations, law schools, clinics and the bodies that serve the profession. List your practice.
What does the verified badge mean?
It means a person checked the licence you claim against your regulator's public register. The check lasts twelve months and is then done again, so the badge always reflects a recent look at the register.
Is my email address shown on my listing?
No, not unless you decide otherwise. By default anyone who wants to work with you writes to you through the site. You can choose to show a contact email address and phone number to signed-in members, which is free and can be switched off again at any time.
How long does a listing last?
A listing runs for twelve months. We write to you before it ends, and nothing disappears without notice.
Events
Can I run events?
Yes. Anyone with a listing can publish events on the calendar and take registrations, whether that is a seminar, a course, a career fair or a networking evening. Hosting is included in your listing and costs nothing extra. See the calendar.
What do you charge for an event?
Nothing for a free event. On a paid event we take 5 percent of each ticket sold, and nothing else. Once we are registered for GST or HST, that tax is added on top of our 5 percent rather than taken out of it, and registered hosts claim it back.
How does the money reach me?
You connect your own Stripe account once, and from then on ticket money is paid to you directly. We never hold it. Your payouts arrive on your own schedule, and you keep the full record of every sale in your own Stripe dashboard.
Do I see who bought a ticket?
You see who is coming and how many seats each person took, but never their email addresses. You write to your attendees through the site and they can write back, so nobody has to hand over an address to attend.
What happens when somebody cannot attend?
You refund the seat from your dashboard, and our 5 percent is returned with it, so a refunded seat costs you nothing.
How do I know what you charged me?
On the first of each month we issue you a numbered statement for the month before, showing every ticket sold, our fee, any tax and anything refunded. You can print it, save it as a PDF or download it as a spreadsheet.
Accounts
Do I need a separate account for your other sites?
One account works across Lexemplary and our other sites, with the same email address and password.
Something on a listing looks wrong. What do I do?
Every listing, event and post carries a report link. Tell us what is wrong and a person reads it. We can take anything down, and the owner cannot put it back themselves. Contact us.
